To all the good fathers out there, simply, Happy Father’s Day! That includes you if you’re gay or straight, trans* or cis, no matter what your background is, you are the backbone of society. You make up an important institution in society and you do your best to teach your children well. A good father teaches his child to love and to care, to be aware and beware of the dangers, but also, to be compassionate. A good father will accept their children or learn to do so and do their best to be understanding of their children. A good father gives their children a chance that not many kids do, and when those kids grow up, they become fruitful and loving and pure.
While we celebrate Father’s Day, let us remember that there are kids who will no longer be able to celebrate their fathers due to violence, to war, and to illness and for other reasons. Let us hope well wishes and action so that the lives of these children affected will go well despite the absence of their good fathers. And let us keep the father’s who died at Pulse extra consideration.
